Ghosts Shirt Design

Here's the new t-shirt graphic I designed for friend and musician, Jeff Lipinski. You may remember the album art I designed a while back. I went ahead and gave you both the rough, scanned sketch as well as the final Pshop touch-up versions... just cause i think it's always nifty to be able to peek at the process.

Anyway, hope you guys like it. I'd totally rock this design by the way... very happy with how it came out.

As always, you can check out Jeff's music here.
Or, look him up on iTunes for purchasing purposes.
T-shirts coming soon!

Appointment

This piece is one of my most recently completed oil works, and to my delight, it got a very nice response at the brickhouse show. i was really pushing a clash between two worlds. the sort of tangible and real landscaped realm depicted with semi-classic techniques and paint application, and the imaginative inner realm of dreams, and hopes, and ambitions portrayed through illustrative iconography and very flat, graphic imagery.

here are a few detail shots, so you can get a better feel for the paint application.

Back in the Saddle

So, after nearly a month of not being able to locate my digital camera charger, and therefore not being able to shoot images of my work to upload here, it showed itself at the one moment when i wasn't even looking for it. as a result, ive got new images for you! ah yes, i can smell that excitement. so yeah, hopefully sooner rather than later, i'll be starting up another steady flow of work. hang in there with me...

on a side note, here's the artist statement i hung at my venice show, just in case any of you were interested.

Mission (mostly) Complete

So, the show opening was a huge success! i want to send out a sincere 'thank you' to all of you who made it out for the evening. it was a blast. i had a great time (maybe a little too good by some people's standards) and i was really feeling the positive vibes from everyone.

For those of you who didn't make it, don't forget that my work will be up on the walls of the brickhouse for a whole month, so please, cruise out there and check it out. have some brunch. enjoy venice. make a day of it. if you want, even give me a shout, and i'd totally be down to meet up and visit.\

I'll be posting new art from the show here real soon... like... tonight or tomorrow, so check back.

Thanks again, all. much love.

Showdown!

The time is fastly approaching when my work will climb the stone walls of venice's hip and laidback brunch joint, the brickhouse kitchen. june nineteenth, actually. that's the date if you didn't notice the flier. you should definitely swing out to the opening if you've got nothing planned. i can guarantee good music and cool art and whatever else chance may care to throw in. and hey, if you can't make it, i'll be sad for a moment, perhaps, but i'll rest easier knowing you have a whole month to come check it out by your ownsome. excitement!
